We've interviewed one of the team this week, who proudly announced "Class Recruit are not the usual Early Years recruitment consultancy in Bristol. It's a small but growing team with a great culture."
Originally from Bath, Louise joined our Early Years recruitment team in Clifton in June 2021 as a Recruitment Administrator/Resourcer and has made a big impact in less than a year.
Here she explains a bit more about her role at our Berkeley Square offices.
What do you do at Class Recruit on a day-to-day basis?
"As a Recruitment Administrator/Resourcer, I advertise all the Early Years job roles, interview candidates, and manage the compliance admin from start to end. It's a really varied job which keeps me on my toes."
How did you come across Class Recruit?
"I studied Early Childhood Studies at UWE and worked as a temp with Karen. This led to a couple of shifts as part of my UWE coursework experience and after different sector roles, I sent a CV to Karen to join the recruitment team in Bristol as I was curious about this side of the sector."
Have you worked in Early Years settings?
"Yes, I'm really lucky to have worked with children in nursery settings for a couple of years before joining Class Recruitment. I understand how it works in nursery settings and now have experience recruiting suitable candidates to work so I feel I am able to see working in this sector from both sides."
What do you particularly like about the job?
"It's a great team at Class Recruit to work with, I love connecting with the candidates during interviews to hear about their experiences in working with children. I have been so well supported so far and I have already completed a CPD course in recruitment in my first year here."
Does the Early Years sector face any challenges at this moment?
"Absolutely! Early Years is constantly changing and adapting to new policies and procedures as well as changes in staff. We always need good committed reliable candidates for nursery positions. The demand for candidates is huge in Bristol and the South West, and Class Recruit are really busy."
What do you think of the Early Years sector as a career option?
"Working in the early years is a challenging yet rewarding sector to work in. There are so many opportunities for good candidates in Bristol for 2022 and many of our temps go on to further their career in further training, promotions and some go on to become teachers in the future."
Is there anything that really stands out for you in your role so far?
"I've particularly enjoyed meeting candidates during the interviews and getting to know them better as well as hearing them explain why they love working with children and what has motivated them to apply for our roles."
