This week, we're interviewing the newest member of the team at Class Recruit, who has already said she is enjoying her new role as an Early Years Consultant covering Weston and North Somerset for Class Recruit.
Charlotte joined the team at our Clifton office in January and has been busy handling one of the most exciting growth areas in the South West for the Early Years recruitment sector.
We caught up with her at the Berkeley Square office earlier this week.
How did you come across Class Recruit?
"I saw an advert on the Indeed website, and having worked in the Early Years sector as a Practitioner straight from college, I wanted to experience the recruitment side of the sector."
What was your background in Early Years before joining Class Recruit?
"I studied Early Childhood at UWE, then worked as an Early Years Practitioner for six years. I was lucky to get offered a full-time position immediately after finishing my studies from a local Early Years setting."
What area are you covering in your Early Years recruitment role?
"I've been brought on board to specifically cover Weston, Portishead, Clevedon and North Somerset. It's a really busy area and the demand for high-quality candidates has rocketed this year."
What is your typical day in the office?
"I'll usually start each day by checking emails, then following up on references and DBS checks for candidates. I look at Indeed adverts we have posted, call candidates, do interviews on Zoom, deal with clients in Early Years settings, look at shifts for the day that need coverage, do admin and chase references, as well as a check in with previous candidates. it's a really varied position."
Have you been given specialist training with Class Recruit?
"Absolutely. Karen and Lucy have so much industry knowledge and the whole team are fantastic. I've been working through online-based training for recruitment and as a Consultant in the Early Years sector. It's been exciting."
Do you have any comments on the Early Years sector in 2022?
"There is a shortage of candidates and the Early Years sector has been through a tough time since Covid hit. Demand for staff is rising and Early Years settings are struggling to find and retain good candidates."
"It's a fantastic role, and I'm really enjoying being an Early Years Consultant. It's so rewarding to be looking after the next generation."
