This week, we're catching up with team member Louise, who after recently completing her first 12 months as our Recruitment Administrator has declared "I've really enjoyed the camaraderie and support at Class Recruitment in Bristol."
We spoke further to Louise at our Clifton HQ about her role within our Early Years recruitment agency to see how she's been getting on this year.
How has your role developed at Class Recruit over the last 12 months?
"As the agency's Recruitment Administrator, I spend much of my time working on job vacancies and job adverts, registrations, compliance checks and the Instagram account, but I've also been looking at continuing my professional development by completing a course in recruitment resourcing and employment law."
How does Class Recruit support candidates in settings and in general?
"We have a thriving temporary and permanent jobs department and are seeing a variety of candidates from different backgrounds whether students, graduates, parents returning to work or older candidates coming back to the sector. We support candidates by preparing them for nursery work whether that is through interview prep, advising and updating their CVs."
"Some people think agency work is just temporary contracts, however, we have placed many qualified candidates directly into permanent roles in nurseries as we have connections with a range of settings throughout the southwest. Therefore, we really do give candidates their pick of where they wish to work!"
What trends are you seeing in the EY sector in 2022?
"This year we have seen a growth in candidates who secure themselves an ongoing permanent role in a nursery after starting off as a temp. This is because the role has allowed them to connect with the nursery and demonstrate how well they work with the nursery team and with the children which encourages the nursery to take them on as a full-time permanent member of the team."
"On-the-job training has also been a big thing this year, where candidates who have shown enthusiasm and commitment towards the early years sector have been invited to embark on the exciting level 2 and level 3 qualification in childcare, whilst earning a salary and working to gain all those essential practitioner skills."
Is there anything else that stands out for you from your first year?
"It's a tight-knit but growing team at Class Recruit with two other Recruitment consultants having joined in the last year. A growing team means that we can support more nurseries across the Southwest, UK with their staffing needs, and we also help candidates getting into employment and furthering their careers, which is rewarding."
